【摘要】:ThisTechnicalSpecificationgivesthestandardtestmethodfordeterminingresidualstressesinpolycrystallinematerialsbyneutrondiffraction.Itisapplicabletohomogeneousandinhomogeneousmaterialsandtotestpiecescontainingdistinctphases.Theprinciplesoftheneutrondiffractiontechniqueareoutlined.Adviceisprovidedonthediffractinglatticeplanesonwhichmeasurementsshouldbemadefordifferentcategoriesofmaterials.Guidanceisprovidedaboutthedirectionsinwhichthemeasurementsshouldbeobtainedandofthevolumeofmaterial,whichshouldbeexamined,inrelationtomaterialgrainsizeandthestressstateenvisaged,whenmakingmeasurements.Proceduresaredescribedforaccuratelypositioningandaligningtestpiecesinaneutronbeamandforpreciselydefiningthevolumeofmaterialthatissampledwhenindividualmeasurementsarebeingmade.Theprecautionsneededforcalibratingneutrondiffractioninstrumentsaredescribed.Techniquesforobtainingastressfreereferencearepresented.Themethodsofmakingindividualelasticstrainmeasurementsbyneutrondiffractionaredescribedindetail.Proceduresforanalysingtheresultsandfordeterminingtheirstatisticalrelevancearepresented.Adviceisprovidedonhowtodeterminereliableestimatesofresidual(orapplied)stressfromthestraindataandofhowtoestimatetheuncertaintyintheresults.
